The Niswonger Performing Arts Center, 10700 SR 118 S., Van Wert, will
present a free concert and crusade at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center featuring Grammy and multiple Gospel Music Association Dove Award-winning recording artist Guy Penrod at 3 p.m. on April 24.
Penrod is a member of the GMA Hall of Fame from his days as the lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band from 1994 to 2008. His unmistakeable, rasp-tinged vocals led him to the top of the gospel charts in his solo career. His most recently acclaimed sophomore release, Hymns, debuted at #1 on the Nielsen SoundScan Southern Gospel retail chart and has been named the top-selling southern gospel album of 2012.
Penrod released an all-new collection of some of today’s most popular songs of worship on his 2014 album, Worship. He used his unique talents to bring to life new renditions of both classic and contemporary songs like “Shout to the Lord,” “Revelation Song,” “Victory in Jesus,” “You Never Let Go,” “10,000 Reasons” and more. Penrod also hosts the weekly show, Gospel Music Showcase, on Daystar television.
Along with Penrod’s musical stylings, there will be a viewing of the short film “Heaven” produced by the Billy Graham Evangelist Association. Also, Stephen Coyle will share his testimony and story behind what he calls “My ‘STROKE’ of Luck,” as he recalls how Jesus made his life complete after suffering a stroke.
Tickets for the event are free and can be acquired through the Niswonger box office beginning at noon on March 23.
