A water main break on the southwest side of Decatur early this morning left several area residents and businesses without water as they began the workday.
City Operations Manager Jeremy Gilbert said the break happened around 12:30 a.m. at Bollman and 13th streets, near Richard’s Restaurant. City crews responded immediately, working through the night to fix the break and restore water to those affected.
Gilbert had no estimate on how many residents and businesses were affected by the break, but noted repairs were nearly finished at 7:30 a.m. today.
Richard’s was reportedly closed for business this morning until water could be restored. No boil advisory has been issued.
