Decatur man faces 8 charges of sexual misconduct

A 14-year-old girl was reported missing May 1 in Montgomery, Ohio; the next day, she was located 150 miles away in Decatur’s own Matador Inn.
Before the night was over, a 22-year-old Decatur man, Thomas M. Spillers, would be charged with no less than eight counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. According to the probable cause affidavit released by Prosecutor Jeremy Brown, Decatur Police Detective Kevin L. Gerber was contacted at 5:11 p.m. May 2 in reference to a missing juvenile — the Montgomery Police Department “pinged” the girl’s cell phone, tracking her straight to the Matador.
