Details have been released surrounding the arrest of Adams County Building, Planning and Zoning Director and Berne City Councilman Mark Wynn for driving while intoxicated Saturday.
According to a report from the Adams County Sheriff's Department, Wynn, 48, Berne, was westbound on W. Van Buren Street in Berne when he stopped at the intersection with Hendricks Street.
Wynn made a left turn onto Hendricks, then continued to keep turning left, driving over the curb and sidewalk and through the yard of a residence on Hendricks, where he reportedly crashed into a tree.
The police report states Wynn then backed his vehicle into the roadway and again drove forward up over the curb, across the sidewalk and into the yard of the same residence. Wynn reportedly then stopped momentarily and witnesses pulled him from the car to prevent him from attempting to drive again, the report states.
Witnesses kept Wynn on-scene until police arrived, at which time he was given a portable blood alcohol test. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .15 percent and OWI endangerment.
