Hall takes over top spot with Bellmont Football

While many doubted that the first official day of football practice would even come this August, few in Decatur thought that the Braves would also be dealing with a head coaching change, but Nick Hall is now the head football coach at his hometown school and the mood around the program has changed.
“Right now it is a big challenge,” says Hall, “and we are taking it one day at a time. This is not a one-year transition, this is a process that will take several years, to build this program back up.”
The challenge that awaits Hall is a big one. The Bellmont 2019 campaign was a rather dismal one. That team also had a new head coach in Eric Davis and they dealt with the departure of several key players early on in the season, most before the first game of the year. Hall hopes that he can turn that trend the oppposite way.
The Braves scored just five offensive touchdowns in 11 games a year ago.
“Right now we have just 28 guys out,” Hall said during Monday’s opening practice. “And 13 of those are freshmen...
