Bellmont grad Grace Hunter’s return to Indiana was a bittersweet one, as her Huskies from Northern Illinois were defeated by Ball State University, 97-89 on Wednesday night.
Hunter, a freshman from Monroeville, featured first off the bench and played a large role in her team’s efforts to win the contest.
The former Squaw posted 1,571 total points in high school as a four-year letter-winner and was a 2019 All-State team selection. She is currently averaging 4.7 points per game for the Huskies.
Northern Illinois started the matchup slow, falling behind to the Cardinals early 8-0, not picking up a basket until the second minute of the game. A minute later, the freshman Hunter checked in for her first action. She was immediately involved, setting up two points after a good pass and screen.
