Squaws finish second at SA Invite; Krol shoots 90

CEYLON—The Bellmont girls golf team followed up their season opening championship with a runner-up finish at the South Adams Invitational on Wednesday. Heritage won the event with a 390 score, just a slim 3 shots better than the Squaws, whose 393 team score was an improvement of 19 strokes over the previous day. Third place went to Southern Wells with a 404 total.
Macee Krol was the team leader with an outstanding score of 90, good for 4th place individually. Jara Hockemeyer improved from Tuesday as well with a fine 98, garnering 7th place overall. Leyna Macke continued her solid start to the season with a 101 score. Alexis Marbaugh improved from Tuesday with a 104 to provide the 4th Bellmont score, and Dana Schirack fired a 107 for the Squaws. Adams Central’s Mary Jones picked up her second consecutive top 10 as she grabbed 8th place with a score of 98.
